What Happens to People Who Have Never Heard the Gospel?

There are a few people in this world who have still never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible seems very clear that little children and the mentally disabled people, who have the hearts and minds of little children, will one day be in heaven after they die.  Little children and the mentally disabled are not able to comprehend the Gospel and therefore are still considered to have pure/innocent type hearts. The Lord Jesus clearly told us "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these."  (Matthew 19:14)

But what about people who are not little children or are not truly mentally disabled and yet still have not heard the Gospel? How will God judge these types of individuals? First of all, we need to understand that Jesus is the only way and if people are honestly seeking the truth that God promises that they will find it. God may send those people a missionary or reveal himself to them through a dream or some other means.
